Calling all Knitters
A number of patients admitted to hospital can be disorientated by the change in their surroundings. The gift of a knitted, or crocheted blanket, shawl or "twiddle muff" can bring comfort and calm to someone who is confused or distressed.
Blankets varying in size, from knee blankets to single bed size, knitted or crocheted squares, shawls and twiddle muffs are all welcome. Once an item has been given to a patient, it is theirs to take home, so further donations are always needed.
If you don't have time to make an item, but have yarn that you no longer need (any colour or texture), we would be delighted to receive it, along with any knitting needles or crochet hooks. Also ribbons, trim etc that may no longer be needed that can be used to decorate twiddle muffs. Sadly, we are unable to use buttons or beads.
Dolls, such as Tiny Tears, and doll's clothes are also welcome.
If you would kindly bring any donations to the League of Friends' office (adjacent to the Coffee Shop) we will be pleased to pass them on to the relevant nursing team. Thank You.
